Robert Stafanski: Corporate Partner, Reed Smith LLP

Bob has a diverse corporate practice, with a focus on technology companies ranging from early stage start-ups to public companies. As a former general counsel of a public Silicon Valley software company, his experience covers a broad range of matters, including corporate transactions, intellectual property, technology transactions, employment and executive compensation, corporate governance, emerging growth/venture capital and counseling on international expansion of emerging growth technology companies.

Bob began his career in 1989 with Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York, where his practice included intellectual property, trade regulation, antitrust and a variety of corporate transactional and litigation work for technology, media, sports and entertainment industry clients. He left Weil to become the Director of Intellectual Property for Reuters in 1996 and then joined the founding management team of TIBCO in 1997 upon its spin-out from Reuters. He subsequently helped lead TIBCO through a successful IPO, as well as substantial expansion into international markets throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Bob later moved from General Counsel at TIBCO into other executive roles, helping to lead the company’s continued business growth and global expansion until leaving the company in 2008.

Bob has also served as a director of both public and private companies, and is an advisor to several Silicon Valley early stage technology companies. As a director of public mobile software company, Zi Corporation, he served on the Audit Committee, the Governance Committee and as the chair of the Compensation Committee. He also served as the chair of the Independent Directors Committee in its successful sale following a tender offer by Nuance Communications. He has been an active advisor in helping his alma mater, The University of Michigan, expand its entrepreneurial footprint, including as a member of the West Coast Advisory Board and as a frequent speaker for the University of Michigan Center for Entrepreneurship. He is also partnering with Silicon Valley venture capitalists in the formation of an early stage technology accelerator and venture fund focused on commercializing capital efficient, disruptive technologies coming primarily out of the University of Michigan and its ecosystem.

Todd Beauchamp: President, In2Technologies

Todd Beauchamp has been working in acoustic and electronic system design for over 20 years. Currently Todd is President of In2Technologies, where he developed Unity Home a unique new home theater platform. In2Technologies has filed for several design patents and is working to bring Unity to market under our consumer facing brand Engage.

Prior to In2Technologies, Todd was the Acoustic Lab Manager for Apple’s Accessories team responsible for product development and product line setup within Apple’s iPhone / iPod / iPad Division. Todd was responsible for the final audio system tuning on the history making first iPhone. He directly contributed to over 20 Apple products during his employment and was responsible for one the highest shipping consumer products in history.

Before his adventures at Apple, he joined American Technology Corporation in 1998, where he was responsible for research and development of ATC’s cutting edge audio technologies including PureBass® woofer systems, HyperSonic® Sound, Planar Magnetic applications and LRAD™, ATC’s military non-lethal and hailing devices in which he is the co-inventor. LRAD became world famous when it saved the Spirit luxury cruise liner from pirates off the coast of Africa in 2005. In addition, he has played a key role in developing several other proprietary technologies as well as designing production processes for all of the companies’ audio products.
