Director, Intelligence & Analysis – General Electric

Job description
The Director, Intelligence & Analysis leads GEHC's intelligence & analysis activities. Incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional partners to establish intelligence & analysis best practices including collection & dissemination of intelligence, identifying & establishing intelligence sources, and analyzing & reporting insights, ensuring the translation of data from multiple sources into actionable information that supports overall compliance and the commercial objectives of the business.

  • Lead the intelligence & analysis function for GEHC Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QARA) and competitor compliance. 

  • Directly manage and lead a team of skilled Quality and Regulatory Intelligence professionals. Drive high performance and engagement with the team;

  • Manage and drive improvements in current QARA global intelligence gathering processes in order to monitor the global regulatory environment and provide early warning on new or changing regulatory requirements; 

  • Design and implement special competitive intelligence projects within QARA and with cross-functional teams;

  • Lead impact analysis, influencing, and communication of new or changing requirements and enforcement actions & collaborate with regional and product regulatory colleagues to devise strategies for their implementation, ensuring business goals are met;

  • Prepare succinct written and/or verbal presentations/briefings of analyses, including conclusions and recommendations for executive decision-making in order to achieve compliance and future growth objectives;

  • Manage analytics of public data related to premarket, postmarket, and enforcement regulatory trends to drive fast and efficient intelligence dissemination. Establish and maintain a robust collection and information sharing network;

  • Educate, train, & advise company professionals on intelligence findings and analytical tools/concepts;

  • Identify and interface with cross-functional partners, including Marketing, Government Affairs and Academia, to establish strategies and operating mechanisms that ensure timely action, impact analysis, and dissemination of information to meet business objectives;

  • Expand the existing source networks for competitive and regulatory intelligence and track internal and external trends. Collect, summarize & evaluate performance metrics and align information collection priorities with business strategies;

  • Scan the external environment and work with external associations to proactively adapt cross-functional strategies and influence change via a “One GEHC” approach 

Quality Specific Goals: 

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines. 

3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required. 

4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current requirements within area of responsibility.


Candidate qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, science, engineering, statistics, political science, or legal disciplines & minimum of 7 years progressive experience in intelligence collection and analysis, methods and methodology; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) & minimum of 15 years progressive experience in intelligence collection and analysis, methods and methodology or 8 years of progressive quality or regulatory experience with a strong emphasis on data analysis 

  • Strong critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize and interpret data (regulatory, economic, statistical) 

  • A minimum of 2 years of direct management experience including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management 

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to establish strategic goals and to prioritize, plan, delegate & evaluate deliverables for complex and sensitive cross-functional projects; track record of delivery 

  • Demonstrated experience operating in a highly regulated environment; proven application of analytical skills in a regulated environment 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience of presenting complex information to different audiences; high level negotiating skills and the ability to provide advice on complex and sensitive issues to staff at all levels; ability to communicate business issues in English in an easy to understand manner 

  • Evidence of operating effectively as part of a wider management structure involving other senior managers to achieve business objectives and targets and to manage conflicting priorities 

  • Demonstrated knowledge & experience conducting scientific, regulatory, legal, or business research 

  • High comfort level with ambiguity and undeveloped/abstract concepts 

  • Prior experience and competency using analytical tools/platforms, database applications and presentation software; 

  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of time 

  • Must be willing to work from an office in Waukesha, WI
