Arun Bhikshesvaran, CTO and Vice President Strategy, Ericsson North America
Mr. Arun Bhikshesvaran has over 15 years of experience in the wireless communications industry. He has been with Ericsson since 1995 and is currently CTO and Vice President of Strategy for Ericsson in North America. Mr. Bhikshesvaran is responsible for identifying Ericsson's long-term vision, defining the overall company strategy and drive business value creation for Ericsson's customers.
He has served in a variety of roles within the industry including Systems Solutions and Integration, Field Engineering, R&D and Global Product Marketing.
Mr. Bhikshesvaran has a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and has Completed a Post Graduate Executive Program at Columbia Business School.
Tim Chang, Principal, Norwest Venture Partners
Tim brings a combination of operational, technical and international business experience to Norwest Venture Partners. Tim focuses on investments in wireless and digital media as well as business development initiatives in Asia-Pacific. Tim has recently invested in and joined the board of directors of 3Jam, a multiparty mobile text messaging platform and service, and Lumos Labs, a web-based provider of scientifically-tested brain training games. Tim also works with the boards of deCarta and Double Fusion.
Prior to joining NVP in 2006, Tim was a principal at Gabriel Venture Partners where he was actively involved in over a dozen wireless-related deals and led Gabriel's investments in Iridigm Display Corporation (acquired by Qualcomm), Eyespot, Sequoia Communications, Sandbridge, and Kajeet. He also contributed to the boards of Placeware (acquired by Microsoft) and Arula Systems (acquired by Raritan), TestQuest, NextG Networks, and IPWireless. Tim built Gabriel's wireless sector practice and helped establish business development capabilities through strong, strategic relationships across the wireless value chain, particularly in Asia-Pacific.
Prior to joining Gabriel, Tim spent more than five years working in Japan. He was a product manager at Gateway Inc. where he successfully launched direct-marketed PC servers in the Japanese market and quickly grew an enterprise product line into a full offering of network desktops, workstations, servers and configurable turn-key solutions. Prior to Gateway, Tim was a development engineer for General Motors. As a tri-lingual engineer based in Tokyo, Tim led project teams in China, Korea and Japan in the development, testing and sales of advanced chassis control systems for such clients as Toyota and Daewoo.
Tim began his career in venture capital in 1999 during his time at Stanford Business School as part of the founding team of CTR Ventures K.K., a venture accelerator in Tokyo focused on seed and early-stage mobile consumer applications for the Japanese market.
Tim currently serves on the advisory boards of the Wireless Communications Alliance (WCA), Dealmaker Media, Digital Hollywood, VC Task Force Wireless SIG, Silicon Valley Chinese Wireless Association, as well as the IBF Wireless Investor Summit.
Tim holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and an MS in electrical engineering/system engineering as well as a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
Sayeed Choudhury, Staff Business Development Manager, Qualcomm
Mr. Choudhury is responsible for software strategy as it pertains to the company's chipset systems. He was instrumental in brokering the partnership between Qualcomm and Microsoft to enable integrated support for Windows Mobile on Qualcomm's UMTS and CDMA2000 chipsets. More recently, he helped kick off the collaboration with Google and other Open Handset Alliance partners on the open-source Android application platform, and is a main liason to the LiMo Foundation.Prior to Qualcomm, Mr. Choudhury led product management and business development activities for the Consumer Electronics & Wireless markets for Wind River Systems. He started his career as an embedded engineer, originally receiving his BSEE from the SUNY Buffalo.

Ms. Duva, an embedded software entrepreneur with over 20 years experience (18 years in Silicon Valley), has been instrumental in developing and executing strategic initiatives throughout her career. After several years at Fidelity Investments, she moved to Silicon Valley where she has held senior managerial posts at Communication Intelligence Corp, PenOp, Dejima, and Revere Data. Before starting her own consulting firm advising start-ups, Ms. Duva was CEO of China MobileSoft which developed a complete Linux platform for mobile phones. Steven is recognized as an authority on contemporary IT issues.

John Hane, Counsel, Pillsbury
Mr. Hane is Counsel in the firm's Communications practice group. He concentrates on transactions, spectrum licensing and special projects in electronic media distribution and satellite communications. Formerly an attorney with a predecessor to the firm, Mr. Hane spent more than a decade as an in-house lawyer, lobbyist, development executive and entrepreneur before returning to private practice with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in 2006.
At Pillsbury Hane has been actively involved in legal and policy issues related to wireless communications and digital media, including mobile video. He was active in the FCC’s recent 700 MHz auction proceeding and has been deeply involved in the FCC’s efforts to use portions of the 700 MHz band to forge a public/private partnership to serve public safety users. In December 2007 Hane was issued US Patent No. 7,308,229 disclosing a system, apparatus and method for single-channel or multi-channel terrestrial communication. He is also the inventor or co-inventor on several pending patent applications related to wireless communications and digital media distribution.
Mr. Hane has counseled institutional investors on industry trends, risks and opportunities, has advised a consumer electronics company on litigation and communications strategy, and has assisted a client in achieving a landmark ruling in a novel antitrust case.
Before joining Pillsbury Hane served as an executive in several communications and media companies, including Highcast Network, Pegasus Communications, Lockheed Martin Telecommunications, New World Communications, and NBC.

In 2002, he joined the strategic marketing organization developing 3-5 year roadmaps and plans for entering emerging markets such as managed services, hosting, application services, and most recently seamless mobility and mesh wi-fi services for business customers. In 2006 with the creation of the AT&T Business Development organization, he was brought in to be the lead the development of AT&T's strategy, business model, product, partnerships, and sales for muni wi-fi services. In 2007 Rupert moved into his current role.
Rupert is married with two young children and has lived in the S.F. Bay area for 13 years. He has a SB and SM in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
